Painting
My painting explores picturesque and decorative themes drawn from classical sources and the baroque, focusing on nature as a metaphor for artistic transformation.
As in nature, the figurative and abstract aspects of form seem to coalesce in antique decorative art, shaped by a material sensibility that inspires my own approach to painting.
I paint landscape, still life, ornament, and allegory, experimenting with traditional media and techniques to create suggestive compositions and rich surfaces.
My artwork embraces the idyllic spirit and elemental quality of pastoral design, conjuring the poetry of an Arcadian world and transforming its material splendor into abstract possibilities.
